Phillies take MLB World Series Title

October 30th, 2008 - by Sports Bookie

Some still can’t believe what happened on Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park. After more than a decade of passing by every MLB season without any glory, the Philadelphia Phillies finally got their World Series Championship Title when they defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3.

The victory was obtained in unusual conditions, considering that when they entered the baseball field on Wednesday, they had half of the baseball game already played. However, they were on a tie by that time, so it was still exciting and nothing was said and done yet. It was like watching the season finale of your favorite TV show.

The Phillies took the lead during the seventh inning and the game was defined at that moment. Cole Hamels, star pitcher from Philadelphia also became the World Series MVP. Well deserved!

Now all those who remained as Phillies fans (or “Phillies Phans”) during all these years when they were at the bottom of the standings are getting what they’ve been dreaming of, and will have a huge celebration for their second title in the almost 100 years of existence.

The Phillies Parade will be on Friday down Broad Street to the Citizens Bank Park.  If you’re one of the die-hard fans, I know you won’t miss it! Go, Phillies!
