Detroit Lions - Matt Miller is out, finally!

September 24th, 2008 - by Sports Bookie

After 7 painful years with the lowest records, the Detroit Lions finally decided to “cut off” what they believe to be the problem, and they just fired their President Matt Millen. This is known according to reports from networks like FOX and ESPN. Is this the beginning of better times for the Lions?

Since the news is fresh there are still some rumors to confirm. It is not clear yet if Millen removed himself from the position or if he was actually kicked out of the NFL team. He was probably fired, that makes sense especially if we remember that just a few days ago William Clay Ford Jr. (Detroit Lions Vice Chairman) said Millen should leave. What a coincidence! But the fact that he won’t be a part of the Detroit Lions anymore really means a big change. Wasn’t that what most Lions NFL betting fans wanted?

But who could blame them. After having the NFL’s worst record of 31-84 on their games, they really needed to do something. They’ve been let down constantly since 2001. Was that Matt Millen’s fault? Possibly. Some also blame William C. Ford. And almost all of those fans agree that Millen had to be fired a long time ago.

Now who’s going to take over? This is the next big decision the Lions will have to make to change their recent history. Let’s hope this is the beginning of a better Detroit NFL team. This is BYE week for the Lions, but I want to see fans celebrating on October 5th at home! Get your NFL tickets now!
