Tom Brady is injured and is out for the Season

September 9th, 2008 - by Sports Bookie

What a weekend! Not just the fact that I got to enjoy again a nice Sunday of Football and beer… but there was so much going on that my head is still spinning! Tom Brady out for this NFL Season! Now that is going to be a huge disappointment for many NFL betting fans.

After their opener Sunday night, the New England Patriots had the home field advantage and actually won the game, 10-17. But what they never imagined is the price they would have to pay, and the news that would make their game feel less successful: Thanks to an awful tackle, the Patriots star Quarterback Tom Brady is injured and is out of the field for the entire Season. It’s over! First and last game for Brady!

Brady was hit on his left leg by Kansas City safety Bernard Pollard at a point during the first part of the game. He seemed to be in a lot of pain and had to leave the field. What all the NFL and New England Patriots fans didn’t know was that his football injury was so bad that Tom Brady is out because his knee injury will require surgery. There go the Pats’ chances to be on the next Super Bowl!

The responsibility now relies on Matt Cassel, the poor guy that will have to deal with all the pressure to reach Brady’s outstanding performance level. Cassel took over during Sunday’s game and actually it wasn’t bad (they won the game, didn’t they?). Now all criticism is over him and all eyes will be following him for the next weeks. Not an easy task to fill in for golden boy Tom Brady! But the Patriots sound confident that Matt Cassel will do a good job.

But don’t panic, you all Patriots betting fans! Even though this changes a lot the advantage New England had and many wonder if they will actually have a record as good as last year’s, they’re still a very solid team. Brady was the star, no doubt about it. But Brady is not the team. And that’s what they will have to prove from now on without their lucky charm.
