Just a couple of days away from kickoff time, the NFL odds are out and have everybody talking. Everybody wants to make the football picks soon (those who really were caught late without their bets ready). Now, is it really a surprise that the New England Patriots come out as the big favorites for week one?
Even though they were the “runner-ups” for last Season and didn’t take the NFL Championship title home, it’s still undeniable that the record they set with an undefeated season was amazing. Who wasn’t blown away by the perfect scores through the entire NFL season? It’s just too hard to think that it was a lucky streak and it probably just faded away during the offseason.
Does this mean we can expect a flawless 2008 NFL Season? Who knows. Maybe being defeated during the most important of all their games was hard enough to break their stride. But their performance is expected to be really good, whether they win all their games or not.
Another aspect to consider is that New England’s schedule for this football season isn’t as tough as everybody thought it would be. Usually, Division winners end up having a hard time! But not this year. This time, they actually have the highest numbers on the football odds as the unquestionable favorites.
This Sunday, the Pats will be playing against the Kansas City Chiefs. We’ll see then how true those numbers were and they will have to show if they’re still got what it takes to be the smashing favorites on the fist week of NFL Football season.
Hey Beantowners! So who thinks the AFC ticket runs through Foxboro this year? I do! I mean come on! The best WR and QB in the NFL reside on the same sideline, not to mention the smartest coach since…well lets just say they should rename the Lombardi trophy! I love LMoney in the backfield but watch out for that fiesty Lamont Jordan catching a few passes here as well. Yes, the D is getting elderly, but that doesnt mean it’s not good!!! I’m sure a loss or even three is possible but the AFC should run it’s path through a blood thirsty Patriots team.
