The Houston Rockets are going to have a tough time from now on: one of their star centers, Yao Ming, is going to be out for the rest of this NBA season because of a stress left-foot fracture. Now, this is a problem you could spot even if you were in Mars.
Yao Ming has reached a great record on this season’s performance: he has an average of 22 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. That’s why this is actually a significant loss for the Houston team. With his basketball injury, the recovery will take a long time no matter which method the doctors choose, surgery or just a regular cast.

So, this is it for the Rockets? Hell, no. At least they can’t let it happen. They currenty enjoy a 15-game winning streak, and I have to say I think this is one of their best NBA seasons in years. Sure, they’re third on their division, but they still have good chances of reaching playoffs if they keep on playing like that. Now, it will be really hard to keep the pace if one of your team’s key figures is missing. But the rest of the team hasn’t done that bad these days, which leaves us with the hope of expecting them to lose like 2 more games than they win (remember they still have a few games at home against teams that are not exactly hot right now), and they’ll still have some chances of jumping to postseason.
I’m not giving up on them yet. Let’s see how they do, maybe it won’t be that much of a tragedy… or so they hope.

No, I’m serious, this time it’s for real. Brett Favre retires, and it’s official. After 17 years of this and that, Favre is finally stepping down and enjoy being remembered as the Packers legend.
I know, I know. Last week there was a huge fuzz about it and it turned out to be a false alarm. But it seems Brett made his mind (again) and now he is actually retiring. It seems it was due to an “unforeseen last-minute change of heart” (according to FoxSports), and now the Green Bay Packers released their official statement by Manager Ted Thompson confirming the news:
“Brett Favre has informed us of his intention to retire from the Green Bay Packers and the NFL. He has had one of the greatest careers in the history of the National Football League, and he is able to walk away from the game on his own terms - not many players are able to do that.
“The Packers owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude. He has given Packers fans 16 years of wonderful memories, a Super Bowl championship among them, that will live on forever. Brett’s many accomplishments on the field are legendary. He leaves the game holding virtually every career passing record, plus his consecutive starts streak, which may never be duplicated.
“The uniqueness of Brett Favre - his personality, charisma and love of the game - undoubtedly will leave him as one of the enduring figures in NFL history.”

So, the only 3-time AP MVP is out. It’s hard to believe the Packers will start their next season without their usual starting QB. I mean, what the hell are they going to do now? Will they still be successful without Brett? Favre did whatever he wanted and people just couldn’t stop loving him… They even managed to forgive him after he appeared in a dumb movie like Something About Mary! Well… we can’t deny it has been 17 years of many many stuff to talk about. Impressive record, impressive career. Congratulations and Good Bye, Brett Favre! And too bad for Green Bay. Now we are going to know if they ever were actually good as a team.
